Diorama Weather ("the app"), operated by Diorama Labs LLC (United States), turns a photo of your home into an AI-generated diorama that changes with the weather. This policy explains what data the app uses and why. The short version: no account is required, we don't sell data, your uploaded photo is never used to train any AI model, and you can erase everything at any time from Settings. The app is offered in the United States.
Your uploads and generated content are used to provide the service to you — to generate your dioramas and animations, to store them so they survive a reinstall, and to display them in your app.
Human review. We may review uploaded photos and generated content to operate and troubleshoot the service, to respond to a support request, to investigate a report, and to improve quality. Access is limited to people working on the app.
Improving our products. As described in our Terms of Service, we may use your uploaded photos and generated content to improve and develop our products and services, including training machine-learning models. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your content to derive biometric identifiers (such as face templates).
Marketing. We may use the dioramas and animations generated for you to demonstrate and promote the app — for example in screenshots or advertising. We will never publish the original photo you uploaded.
The AI providers we use to generate your dioramas and animations commit, in the service tiers this app runs on, that customer content is not used for their model training:
Our backup animation provider, fal.ai — used only if Kling is temporarily unavailable — receives only the generated diorama image, never your original photo. fal.ai's terms limit its use of that image to running the service and grant fal no ownership of your generated content; they permit fal to use only anonymized, aggregated usage data (which may be derived from inputs) to improve its own services (fal Terms of Service).
The app relies on: Apple WeatherKit (forecasts), the US EPA AirNow program (public air-quality data, via our own servers), Google Cloud / Firebase (storage, authentication, analytics, notifications, cloud functions), Google Gemini (AI image generation), and the Kling AI API — operated by LOHAS GAMES PTE LTD (Singapore), an affiliate of Kuaishou Technology (AI animation generation), with fal.ai (United States) as a backup animation provider used only if Kling is temporarily unavailable. Your original uploaded photo is only ever processed by Apple, Google, and our own cloud functions. Only the AI-generated diorama image — never your original photo, location, or any identifier — is sent to Kling (or, as a backup, fal.ai), and only when you choose to animate a diorama.
Each third party with whom we share user data is bound by its own published terms and privacy commitments to provide protection for that data that is the same as or equal to the protections stated in this policy, including the commitments quoted above that your content is not used to train their models — except that our backup provider fal.ai instead limits use of the diorama image to running the service and to anonymized, aggregated usage data, as described above. We share user data only with the providers listed here, only to operate the app, and never with data brokers or advertising networks.
Animation is generated via the Kling AI API, operated by LOHAS GAMES PTE LTD (Singapore), an affiliate of Kuaishou Technology (China), through its Singapore API endpoint. If you animate a diorama, the generated diorama image is therefore processed on servers outside the United States. We do not send your original photo, your location, or any account identifier to Kling. Kling's handling of the image it receives is governed by its own terms and privacy policy (including the no-training commitment quoted above); we store the finished animation on our own servers in the United States. If animation ever fails over to our backup provider fal.ai, the diorama image is processed by fal.ai in the United States.
Your uploaded photos and generated dioramas and animations are kept for as long as your installation is active — they are your library, and they are what lets your homes come back after a reinstall. Content you delete in the app is hidden immediately, excluded from every restore, and permanently erased within 90 days. Short-lived backups kept for disaster recovery expire within 30 days. Server logs that may reference your installation are kept for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting. We keep no other copies of your content.
Settings ▸ Delete Everything erases your installation's account and the content tied to it: your uploaded photos, every generated diorama and animation, your credit balance and its history, your purchase entitlement record, your notification token, and your usage counters. This happens immediately, and you'll see a confirmation when it's done. Disaster-recovery copies expire within 30 days, and server logs referencing your installation within 90 days.
Deleting is permanent. Unused credits are forfeited and cannot be restored, and deleting does not cancel or refund any purchase — App Store refunds are handled by Apple. Your one-time App Store purchase belongs to your Apple ID and is not lost.
For fraud and abuse prevention we keep a small number of records after deletion. None of them contain your photos, dioramas, animations, or location, and none can identify you on their own:
You can also email us at the address below to ask us to erase your data, and we will do it within 30 days.
You can stop each kind of processing at any time. Turn off Location or Notifications for Diorama Weather in the iOS Settings app. Stop creating dioramas and no photo is uploaded or sent to any AI provider. Or delete everything as described above, which ends all of it.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, email us at the address below and we will delete it.
You can view your content in the app at any time, delete any individual home, or delete everything. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use your data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising. If a privacy law in your state gives you additional rights over your data, email us and we will honor them.
If a photo or generated image involves you or your property and you did not consent to it, email us at the address below with enough detail to identify it and we will remove it. Copyright complaints are handled under the process in our Terms of Service.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
